| It’s called the
« Oscars Ceremony », but we are not attending
the Oscars in Hollywood… well not yet, I still keep hoping I’ll be
there one day. But
there I would like to thank all those who supported the creation
of this site : my Dad and my Mum who always supported me, except
when I put my Mum’s silk evening dress in the washing machine, and
when I bumped into my Dad’s car with my bicycle, and when I let
the Christmas cake fall on the floor. My Dad and my Mum nearly always
supported me and had the great idea to meet somewhere someday. If
not, I would not be here. They brought into this encounter all these
strange families of whom I’m now looking up the history. (And just
imagine for one second my Dad’s name would have been John Smith
and my Mum’s would have been Ann Campbell…. How easy that would
have made my genealogical research !)
Among all these
families, a very special mention of my cousins, Philippe, Myriam,
Alexandre and Stanislas, whom I really love so much...
My hairdresser,
my make-up artist, my trainer, my agent, my stylist, my banker for
his understanding.
Martina
et Rainer , who introduced me to diving…
My
Great Grandfather, who had the good idea of falling in love
with a dancer during the Universal Exhibition in Paris, and of abandoning
his wife and children to set up home near the river Seine. As a
consequence of this bad deed, my Great Grandmother followed him
a few years later with all her children in her luggage.
And finally, we left Russia before the October Revolution, which
saved us a few pogroms, plague, cholera, concentration camps, Stalingrad
battle, Stalin’s purges, gulags…
Jean-François,
who put a camera back in my hands, and who helped me creating this
site,
KmOoG who improved it, and moreover
Kéa who gave the final touch to the photo galleries.
Jean-François,
still the same, also Jean-Bernard, as well as and all who helped
carrying my tripod (6 kilos of pure technology, that’s something!)
Brigitte, for
her scrutinising proofing, Helen, Brigitte again for the English
version, Christoph and Simone and their serene smile at my numerous
texts and chatters for the German version.
For the Arabic version, volunteers are welcomed….
Mister Kodak
for the small Instamatic given for my 10th birthday, which served
me faithfully for a long time, and finally did produce some pictures
that were not so bad….
Mister Canon, whose reflex replaced very well my small Instamatic…
DeviantArt
and Sans
Prétention or their numerous criticisms of my photos, and very
specially Yvan
Galvez and
Fabien Azzopardi, also Pierrevm, Martin and all who made my photographic
view evolve, Jean-Sé
for his support on Photoshop,
Kiki or a greatly efficient correction, and all the others,
too numerous to be listed here… visit Sans Prétention, DeviantArt
or my links.
Dominique
Charpagne,
Laurent Vilbert, Alexandre, Kali,
all those who pushed me in making this site, my patient models,
and specially Kali (again) and moreover, my most preferred male
model, and a pair of very obedient wooden hands……
oseph Kessel,
Jean Raspail et JMG Le Clézio, for giving me dreams of travelling
and other worlds. And someone very special who made me dreaming
of deserts before knowing them.
Sophie
Thouveninfor her superb photos, and for that high quality site
named Préface,
Stéphane for this other site named
Proses de Vues,
Laurent Orseau and
FilH for introducing me to a blurred world.
Gerald Lacroix
and his outstanding site on Ain-Noussy village in Algeria, who allowed
me, in a totally unexpected way, to find the track of my Great Grandmother,
and unroll a little but further the yarn of my travelling genetics…
Volunteers who
put on line
Ellis Island's immigrants database, and let me discover some
unknown cousins, Laurence Senelick who was interested in the wanderings
of a theatre Alexander Koiransky.
My several travel
companions, who hit the road with me, with their good mood, and
a lot of patience when I wanted to take a picture at this specific
place with the needed light… this light not arriving for one or
two hours. With a special mention to Christine for pushing me to
go in places we love.
My bosses, who
made me travel a lot … to grimy places, collecting miles to fly
to huge blue skies, also giving me the opportunities of some shootings
in these cold and inhuman places that airports are.
Peter Minuit, for buying Manhattan and founding NewYork, and Jan
Van Riebeeck for creating the first settlement in Cape of Good Hope,
two of the most beautiful cities in the world.
And my cats,
for their patience when I refuse to abandon my keyboard, and their
ability to detach me from it, nevertheless. |
